Karth
was born in New Zealand in 1948.
He studied Graphic Arts and then he worked as a
director, creator of puppets, interpreter of roles for
puppet theatre,
in New Zealand, London and Australia. He lived in Cyprus
for many years.
In 1987 he made a puppet theatre in Limassol, 'To pidihto
lemoni', (the hopping lemon), which is managed by the
painter Dimitris Mihlis and gives performances all over
the island.
In
Australia his work includes puppets and scenery for
distinguished theatrical organisations like The Theatre of
Image and the Sydney Theatre Company. His sceneries and
images were used in children TV series of A.B.C.
(Australian Broadcasting Corporation), like the awarded
series 'The Ferals'. He always loved painting and he's
been painting since his childhood. He’s been a
professional painter since 1990. His work was presented in
many group exhibitions in Australia. This is the first
time he exhibits in Cyprus. His work is characterised by
the sensibility of the feelings expressed through the
harmonious sensibility of his colours.
