νέα της δουλειά παρουσιάζει η Άννα Γεωργίου στη γκαλερί
Κυπριακή Γωνιά Η Άννα Γεωργίου γεννήθηκε στο Torquay νότιο Devon, Aγγλία. Μετά την ολοκλήρωση του πτυχίου της στην Ψυχολογία και Φιλοσοφία ήρθε στην Κύπρο το 2004, για να σπουδάσει τέχνη και να ανακαλύψει την Κυπριακή πολιτιστική κληρονομιά της , ατλώντας έμπνευση από το λαό της Κύπρου, τα χωριά, τα τοπία και την παραδοσιακή αρχιτεκτονική της Κύπρου. Είναι κάτοχος Μεταπτυχιακού δηπλώματος του Κυπριακού Κολλεγίου Τέχνης. Έχει εκπροσωπήσει τη Κύπρο στην Ιερουσαλήμ αντιπροσωπεύοντας το British Council – LOOKING IN AND FACING OUT 2008, έχει επίσης εκπροσωπήσει την Κύπρο σε διεθνής Συλλογικές Touring Εκθέσεις, όπως τη διεθνή έκθεση EU- ‘OUT OF LIMITS’ Laterna Gallery, Slovenia and DIVERCITY 2008 οργανωμένη από το Κυπριακό Επιμελητήριο Καλών Τεχνών και το Υπουργείο Παιδείας και Πολιτισμού, στο Στρασβούργο. Το 2006 ήταν προεπιλεγείσα υποψήφια για το Βραβείο CELESTE ART, οι υποψήφιοι είχαν επιλεγεί απο το πρόγραμμα επιμελητών του Goldsmiths College London UK. Δήλωση καλλιτέχνη: Θεωρώ ότι αυτή η σειρά των έργων ζωγραφικής παρέχει στους θεατές μια εναλλακτική δυνατότητα του κόσμου, η οποία προσδιορίζει μια ιστορία σε εικονιστικά συμβολική γλώσσα. Παράλληλα είναι η διερεύνηση αρμονίας, ομορφιάς, ανθρωπότητας, και διάφορες πτυχές της πνευματικότητας. Δουλεύω με με την εισήγηση σε μια επιφάνεια και βλέπω το κενό καμβά ως ονειροπόλο επιφάνεια που πρέπει να ερμηνευθεί και όχι να επιβληθεί, διαδικασία που περιλαμβάνει να διερευνώ σε βάθος και να εκφράζομαι.

Biographical noteAnna Georghiou was born in Torquay south Devon England, after completing a degree in Psychology and Philosophy, She came to Cyprus in 2004 to study art and discover her Cypriot heritage, drawing inspiration from the Cypriot people, villages, landscapes and traditional architecture of Cyprus, she holds a post graduate diploma in fine art, from the Cyprus college of art. She has represented Cyprus in Jerusalem as a British council deligate LOOKING IN AND FACING OUT, 2008, and has represented Cyprus in Collective international Touring Exhibitions, such as the international Exhibition EU –‘OUT OF LIMITS’ Laterna Gallery, Slovenia , DIVERCITY, 2008, organised by the Cyprus Chamber Of Fine Arts and the Ministry of Education in Strasbourg, to coincide with an Official visit there by President Demetris Christofias. In 2006 she was shortlisted for the CELESTE ART PRIZE, candidates were selected by the curatorial programme at Goldsmiths College London UK. Artist Statement I feel this series of paintings offers viewers an alternative possible world, the setting forth of a story in figurative symbolic language, as it is with Allegory. Whilst, exploring harmony, beauty, humanity, and various aspects of spirituality. I work with the suggestibility of a surface and see the blank canvas as a visionary surface to be interpreted, rather than to be imposed upon, a process which involves looking into and bringing out.
